“SNL” Version of “Celebrity Jeopardy”
Won Over By Reality
By Tim Bayer
BRIGHTON New York—(Weekly Hubris)—6/24/2013—My last two posts featured a ventriloquism theme; the most recent column was titled “Revisiting Jeff & Achmed.”
This week, we tune in to a skit from “Saturday Night Live” . . . wherein the merry gang takes a swipe at “Jeopardy,” with Will Ferrell playing Alex Trebek. The first “SNL/Jeopardy” skit aired in 1996. Through the years, though, the popular meme has roasted many celebrities, with the panel often including a Trebek-taunting Sean Connery played by Darrell Hammond.
This week I steer you to an “SNL Celebrity Jeopardy” skit from 2009, in which one of the contestants is Tom Hanks, who appears in the skit playing the part of—Tom Hanks.

I make it a point to “watch your column” even before coffee on Monday mornings. THEN, I can handle the week. :-) Thanks, Tim!!! I adore Will Ferrell, esp when he’s playing an ex-president.
