A Bird of Play
Won Over By Reality
By Tim Bayer
BRIGHTON New York—(Weekly Hubris)—12/9/2013—If you’re catching up (and it’s the holidays: so who isn’t?), my previous post in this space dealt with a very entertaining voice mail message titled, “Side-Splitting Voice Mail,” so go back and have a listen.
This week, we swoop Down Under to observe an Australian Magpie at play.
Finder-Credit goes to Elizabeth Boleman-Herring for sending this video along to me. My immediate impression when I saw just the beginning of the video was that the bird in the starring role was injured. It soon became obvious, however, that the magpie was just having some fun with good old not-as-bright-as-he buddies.
Shades of The Wind in The Willows, or Winnie The Pooh here, Readers: this is just a charming piece of film, and one you’ll want to watch twice.
(If you, yourselves, come across an entertaining link or video, I’d be interested in seeing it, and sharing it with my readers at Weekly Hubris. Please contact me at: Email: [email protected].)
