“Wondering”

Quantum physicists have affirmed
what ancient sages knew,
that there are parallel worlds,
parallel universes.

If so, is there a world in which
another me resides,
living a life quite different
from mine,
embraced by husband,
children,
family?

Does she ever wonder
what it’s like to be
the me who’s writing
this
About her?

The me, who’s sitting,
in this quiet
early morning
reading Woolf and Oliver,
gazing at the not so distant
Pacific,
wondering what it’s like
to be her?

    It’s a lovely poem Helen. You are so attuned to your inner voice (or, given your theme, your inner voices!). I love your use of negative space, and the sweet quietude of the poem. One question: Mary Oliver? Kudos, Jon
